What Is Krav Maga? Krav Maga is the official self-defense and fighting system of the Israeli Defense Forces and numerous U.S. Law Enforcement Agencies. It is recognized as the most efficient self-defense system for real-life situations. Krav Maga is not a traditional martial art. It was developed in a hostile environment in which combatants could not devote many hours to hand to hand combat training. Therefore, the Krav Maga system was created to bring students to a high level of proficiency in a short period of time. Krav Maga is considered to be a modern, highly refined, street fighting system, designed to be used against armed and unarmed attackers. Krav Maga focuses on punches, kicks, chokes, bearhugs, headlocks, grabs, etc. Overall, the aim of Krav Maga is to educate and build people mentally, spiritually, and physically so that in a time of need one will be able to defend and attack with maximum speed and efficiency.
