MMA
Here at the Black Belt Academy we base our curriculum on mixed martial arts, also known as MMA.  MMA is a series of striking (punches, kicks) grabs/takedowns, to grappling. 

MMA is reality-based & effective!
This is also what they use on Spike TV's hit show, UFC.

Our grappling classes are based on Judo, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  BJJ is a martial art combat sport that emphasizes ground-fighting.  The aim is generally to use a variety of grappling holds to advance in positioning, and finally to obtain a submission hold, referred to as "position before submission."  In 1993, it was made famous by Royce Gracie when he used it in UFC. 

We have set aside classes where you will be able to spar when you have learned the correct techniques.  These classes will help you become a well-rounded fighter; and help you get ready to compete, if you wish to do so.
